PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Dear Parents

Semester 1 has finished and Helensvale High students have much to celebrate. The report cards have been posted and many families will be celebrating the outcomes that hard work and commitment to improvement has brought. Some families will be analysing what and how to change, so that further improvement can be achieved. I congratulate all students who have achieved to their potential and encourage you to commit to another successful semester starting on July 14th 2009.

On the last Tuesday of semester one, I had the pleasure of “shouting“ a pizza lunch to 8B and 10L PEP classes as they have achieved 100% complete uniform on a regular basis. I congratulate the students, parents and teachers Mr Cooper and Mrs Denronden, on this achievement.

The teaching and non teaching staff now have a well earned rest. Their professional commitment to improved student learning outcomes is to be commended.

During the break it is important that families take the time to ensure their children are prepared for the semester ahead with the required resources and appropriate uniform.

This will be my last newsletter as Principal of Helensvale State High School as Education Queensland have appointed Mr Ed Manley as the Executive Principal. Mr Manley will join the Helensvale SHS community on July 13th 2009.

Cate MacMillan
Principal
